Unofficial Right-of-Way to Door Opening

It has come to my attention over the last few years that some people have become very disrespectful when it comes to holding doors open for others and letting others pass when they should wait. Now my reflection is based mostly on when two parties approach a door at the same time, but from opposite sides. Who should open the door first? Who should hold the door? Who should pass through the doorway first?

I have come to the conclusion that when a situation like this arises one person will need to push the door to pass through the doorway while the other person will need to pull the door to open the passageway. The person doing the pushing has constant forward momentum and thus should be the person who passes through the doorway first. The person who would be pulling the door open needs to stop their forward progression to pull the door open, meaning they should yield to the other person and in most cases pull the door open for the other. Since most doors on buildings need to be pushed to exit those who are exiting buildings should be let through the doorways before those who would be entering.

If everyone followed this unwritten rule then doorway travel would become more efficient and non-confusing.
